I`m back in the saddle again
Out where a friend is a friend
Where the longhorn cattle feed
On the lowly gypsum weed
Back in the saddle again
Ridin` the range once more
Totin` my old .44
Where you sleep out every night
And the only law is right
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-oh
Rockin` to and fro
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-yay
I go my way
Back in the saddle again
The above drawing bears no resemblance to Gene Autry. I drew it in less than five minutes and used pen and ink because I'm experienced. If you are just starting out, use a pencil and eraser. - ccc
Seriously - Orvon Gene Autry was born Sept. 29, 1907 in Tioga, Texas and with Ray Whitley wrote the music and lyrics to "Back in the Saddle Again" in 1939. That same year he sang that song in the western movie "Rovin' Tumbleweed". He will be remembered for being a role model to the children who saw his movies, but more importantly, he was a gentleman and devoted to his family.
